Eight inner-city ministries will hold the annual Caring For The Core BBQ & Block Party on Saturday.
Life Light Ministries, Floodgates Worship Church, Lighthouse Mission, Teen Challenge, The Salvation Army, Dakota Community Church, Harvest Family Church and Siloam Mission will serve food, put on games and music, and give away prizes to residents of the core area. There will also be face painting and a dunk tank for kids.
The barbecue will be held in front of the Salvation Army at 180 Henry Avenue from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The block party kicks off LOVE Winnipeg, a two-week event meant to give back to the city by doing good deeds carried out by the local church community.
