Fans attending this season’s Winnipeg Blue Bomber games will notice an increased effort to encourage them to recycle.
On Tuesday, the Football Club announced a partnership with the Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association (CBCRA). Added signage throughout Canad Inns Stadium will ask fans to “Recycle Everywhere,” while custom-made recycle bins will be placed throughout the facility to make it easier to recycle beverage containers.
Blue Bomber players are already getting behind the initiative. Quarterback Buck Pierce has voiced a public service announcement, currently running on local radio stations. Players will also act as ambassadors for the program and appear at schools to drive home the message.
The goal of the CBCRA is to achieve a 75% recovery rate of all beverage containers sold in Manitoba.
