Blue Bombers Sell 20,000 Season Tickets

June 14, 2011 2:03 PM | Sports

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have set a record for the number of season tickets sold during the club’s history.

The Bombers have sold 20,000 tickets this season, with only 2,500 season tickets remaining.

“This is a great sign of support and a strong message from our fans regarding the direction of our club, specifically their support for Joe Mack and Paul LaPolice and the optimism surrounding the 2011 season,” Blue Bomber president Jim Bell said.

One of the main reasons for the spike in sales is due to the Bombers moving into their new stadium at the University of Manitoba next season. Those who hold season tickets this year will have the first chance to buy when they go on sale in 2012.

Fans can still buy what’s left of the season ticket packages until June 23 — the same day the Toronto Argonauts visit Winnipeg for an exhibition game.
