Those who have never had the opportunity to camp before will learn all about it as part of a new initiative launching today.
To celebrate Parks Canada’s 100th anniversary, the “Learn to Camp” initiative will allow about 60 Winnipeg citizens to experience their first overnight camping trip under supervision of Parks Canada’s outdoor specialists.
Selkirk-Interlake MP James Bezan will announce details of the program at 3:45 p.m. and then take part himself.
The campers will stay at the Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site in St. Andrews, Manitoba.
