A 23-year-old man was killed Monday while working at a construction site in the RM of Victoria Beach.

Powerview RCMP were called to the scene at about 2:45 p.m. when a structure had shifted, pinning the man underneath.

RCMP say the man was jacking up a cottage with two other men when the structure began to slide. The other men were not injured in the accident.

Michael Mooney of Winnipeg was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Workplace Safety and Health, along with Manitoba Labour and the RCMP, are continuing to investigate.
