Just in time for the pending naming announcement of Winnipeg’s NHL team, a collection of Winnipeg Jets memorabilia will go display today at the University of Manitoba.
The collection, made up of 741 Jets hockey programs which chronicled the home games of the team from December 1975 to April 1996, was donated to the university in 2010.
Many of the programs are autographed and will be on display to the public on the main floor of the Elizabeth Dafoe Library at the Fort Garry Campus from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The display will also include photographs of Winnipeg Jets players and action shots that are part of the Winnipeg Tribune collection held in the University of Manitoba Archives and Special Collections Department.
