The Manitoba Museum is one popular destination. In fact, 528,295 visitors toured it last fiscal year.

Those impressive attendance numbers were revealed during the museum’s annual general meeting Thursday night, which also showed 96,423 school children came through the doors during the same time period.

The museum won several awards for its Ancient Seas exhibit, and won the Outstanding Achievement in Exhibitions award from the Canadian Museums Association. Besides that, the museum was also named Manitoba’s best new summer attraction by WHERE Winnipeg magazine.

In five months alone, more than 15,000 visitors came to see Cosmomania, a free exhibit from the Cité de l’ Espace in France.

The Manitoba Museum is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
