U of W Opens State-of-the-Art Building Today

The University of Winnipeg will officially open the Richardson College for the Environment and Science Complex today at 599 Portage Avenue.

The $66.5-million facility will attract world-class scholarship and research to Manitoba dedicated to sustainability issues.

Touted as North America’s most energy-efficient education and research building, the ribbon cutting is slated for 11 a.m.

Following the formal ceremony, the public is invited to enjoy refreshments at a public forum in the atrium from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., public tours of the building will be offered every 30 minutes from the atrium. The last tour will be at 4 p.m.
