The city’s Animal Services Agency is holding an Adopt-a-Dog sale today until Thursday.

From 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the public can visit 1057 Logan Avenue and adopt a dog for $99, including a license, micro-chip, spay/neuter, basic shots, food, and pet health insurance.

On Monday, the agency had 51 dogs (16 stray and 35 up for adoption) at its facility.

Officials hope to transfer dogs to area animal shelters, but aren’t having much luck due to capacity issues at other shelters.

The Winnipeg Humane Society at 45 Hurst Way is holding a similar sale until Thursday, but for cats. Adoptions are $25 for cats six months and up.
