Heading to the United States for the Canada Day long weekend? Plan your trip ahead.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is expecting higher traffic volumes this weekend at the Emerson crossing as travellers head south.
The peak traffic volumes will occur between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday, with the potential for border wait times to exceed 30 minutes. Peak times on Sunday, July 3 will be between 12 p.m. and 9 p.m. and may exceed 45 minutes coming back into Canada.
Delays may also be seen at the Gretna and Tolstoi crossings. That particular port only operates between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
