Crash Claims Life of Two People on Highway 59

A two-vehicle crash killed a man and a woman in the RM of St. Clements on Thursday night.

RCMP say a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta was travelling eastbound on Cil Road when it collided with a 2001 Toyota 4Runner heading northbound on Highway 59 at around 8 p.m.

The two people in the Volkswagen were pronounced deceased at the scene, while the two people in the Toyota were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

Police continue to investigate the crash.

No names have been released.

Earlier today, two people were killed on Highway 10 near Minnedosa.

UPDATE: July 2, 2011 — The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old woman from Selkirk and a 41-year-old man from Winnipeg. Their names will not be released
