A new building opened up at Birds Hill Provincial Park Monday, just in time for this year’s Winnipeg Folk Festival.
The La Cuisine building is part of the first of a three-phase, $6-million site redevelopment project. Phase One, which will be completed this summer, marks a $2.3 investment in the festival site.
The building will serve as a kitchen facility during the festival, helping prepare more than 3,000 meals three times daily for festival performers, volunteers and guests. The building also functions as a working space pre-festival and as a place for tent drying and storage post-event.
