To celebrate 100 years in Manitoba, St. John Ambulance will present the Town of Carman with 30 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) today.
Carman will be recognized this morning as the first rural community in Manitoba to purchase the devices in bulk. In April, the Manitoba government proposed new legislation that will make AEDs mandatory in high-traffic public places.
The presentation of AEDs to town officials is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Carman-Dufferin fire hall.
