Two Australian entrepreneurs have come up with an idea that will keep iPhone owners refreshed whenever they want a beverage.
Called Opena, the device is a hardshell case that fits around an iPhone and includes a trusty bottle opener on the back.
“Basically, Australians are fairly heavy drinkers, as you may or may not know,” Chris Peters, a Melbourned-based industrial designer told news agency Reuters in an interview. Peters created the concept with the help of former toolmaker Rob Ward.
Peters said there was a few glitches in the early stages of testing, such as making sure foam from opening a beer didn’t damage the iPhone, didn’t scratch the casing, and to make sure there was no pressure put on the iPhone from using the opener.
Feedback for Opena has been mostly positive, but there have been a few skeptics who have voiced their opinions on the company’s Facebook page.
