A pedestrian was killed early Sunday morning in the community of Norway House after being hit by a pickup truck.
RCMP say the accident happened at about 1:30 a.m. when an impaired driver hit the pedestrian laying on the roadway.
The driver of the truck was arrested for impaired driving causing death.
No other information is available at this time, as police continue to investigate.
No names have been released.
UPDATE: July 11, 2011 — The deceased has been identified as Stephen Anderson, 24, of Norway House Cree Nation. Charged is Darryl Saunders, 37, also of Norway House.
