Police Meet CFL Alumni in Softball Game Tonight

Members of the Winnipeg police will face off tonight against CFL alumni in a charity softball game.

The opening pitch will be at Shaw Park starting at 7 p.m. and include alumni Terry Evanshen, Willard Reaves, Willie Pless, and former Winnipeg Jets Jimmy Mann, Thomas Steen, and several others.

Gates open at 5:15 p.m. followed by a free on-field football skills clinic for the kids and autograph session between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. (no equipment required). Current Blue Bombers Doug Brown, Kelly Butler, Brendon LaBatt, and others will be participating.

Game tickets are $15 and available at the St. Mary’s Road service centre (1086 St. Mary’s), the Public Safety Building or at the gate.

Kids aged 7-14 can print their tickets free at SportManitoba.ca.

Funds raised will support KidSport Manitoba.
