Cyclists will come together on Saturday, July 16 for the third annual BikeFest at The Forks. (BIKEFEST / HANDOUT)
Cyclists will be in their element Saturday at The Forks during the third annual Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) BikeFest.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., a series of free events will be held to promote and celebrate cycling.
Activities include a photo booth to get a shot of you and your bike, bicycle maintenance, bike polo matches, displays and demos, a MEC marketplace to buy cycling-related products, and a bike swap to sell or trade your used bikes, cycling clothes or accessories. Sellers can e-mail jfalk@mec.ca to reserve a free table.
There will also be a bicycle valet service where riders can leave their bikes in a secured parking lot.
The West End Cultural Centre is putting on concerts throughout the day on the main stage underneath the canopy. The line-up will feature plenty of great music by local musicians, including Magnum K.I. and Haunter.
If music isn’t your thing, Moksha Yoga Winnipeg will offer free yoga sessions.
