The Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Wednesday named Ossama AbouZeid as the team’s interim CEO.

AbouZeid’s role will be to coordinate the current activities of the Winnipeg Football Club and integrate those with the new stadium project.

Having a 20-year track record in design and construction management, AbouZeid has led privately owned and publicly traded manufacturing corporations. He was also formerly president and CFO of Buhler Industries.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers president Jim Bell will continue to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Winnipeg Football Club, and work closely with chairman Bill Watchorn, CTO Jeff Thompson, and AbouZeid, as the club continues to transform into a sports and entertainment entity.
