Pack your favourite beach blanket and head to Gimli this week.
The annual Gimli Film Festival kicks off Wednesday, showcasing more than 80 features, documentaries and shorts from Manitoba, Canada and the world.
Celebrating the art, education and entertainment of film, the festival will run until Sunday, July 24, with indoor venues, industry workshops and seminars.
Of course, schmoozing with industry elite is also a big part of the festival, as there will be no shortage of networking events and parties.
Many who make the drive north of Winnipeg will be drawn to the Cinema Under the Stars series, screening films on a giant screen on Gimli Beach.
Awards will be handed out to short films and audience favourites.
