Campaign Launched for Active Transportation Network

July 19, 2011 12:02 PM | News

The City of Winnipeg has launched a new section of its website devoted entirely to helping cyclists, runners and pedestrians plan their routes.

As part of the campaign to promote the Active Transportation (AT) Network, JoinTheMovement.ca will serve as a guide to provide information for new and existing routes, safety tips and related resources.

One of the main features of the site is Route Pursuit, where two of the more than 30 completed AT routes — the Transcona Trail and the Yellow Ribbon Greenway — are shown in detail for route-planning purposes. Users can watch videos of the paths and virtually ride each trail. Points of interest are also shown along the routes.

The Join the Movement awareness campaign will feature billboards, bus advertising, and radio ads highlighting the network.
