The Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club will play host to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Circuit beginning today until Saturday.
Players travelling from U.S., Great Britain, Malaysia, Morocco, Brazil, Korea, Sweden, Germany, Croatia, Russia, Brazil and Australia will be competing.
Besides Winnipeg, the Canadian Mid-West ITF U18 event is also making stops in Edmonton and Vancouver.
“This is a great opportunity for some of our Manitoba juniors to measure up against juniors from around the world,” said Bruce Waschuk, president of Tennis Manitoba. “Local tennis enthusiasts certainly won’t want to miss the chance to see this high level of tennis being played in our own backyard.”
The finals will take place Saturday, July 23.
Admission to the event is free.
