Manitoba cell phone customers on the Telus network may notice an increase in their service after two new cell towers were flicked on this week.
The company says the towers in Oakbank and Dugald will join their existing 42 towers in and around Winnipeg to offer increased network capacity.
Telus’ 4G coverage has extended along Highway 1, 7 and 75 since launching in February. The new towers represent a 15 percent increase in 4G wireless coverage.
The additional hardware on the ground is part of a $22 million investment Telus made in the province earlier this year.
Last fall, Telus installed a new tower near Sturgeon Road and Saskatchewan Avenue.
