A 22-year-old Winnipeg man was thrown from his motorcycle Friday evening after rear-ending a car in the RM of St. Andrews.

RCMP say the accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. on Highway 8 near Petersfield Road.

A 2010 Ford Focus driven by a 63-year-old woman was heading north when it slowed down to make a left turn at the road. A 2007 Yamaha motorcycle struck the woman’s car from behind. The crash sent the driver of the motorcycle to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol is not considered to be a factor in the crash and police continue to investigate.
