A new competition to choose one book for Manitobans to read simultaneously is open for voting.
Manitoba Reads is a joint challenge put together by the Winnipeg International Writers Festival, McNally Robinson Booksellers and CBC Manitoba SCENE.
The competition is based on the Canada Reads model and allows voters the choice of 16 books to choose from. The top eight books will go to the next level. Four book advocates will each choose a finalist, and then debate them down to a single title on September 24 at the closing Mainstage show of THIN AIR 2011.
Online voting closes July 29 at CBC.ca.
