City to Soon Spray Against Dutch Elm Disease

July 28, 2011 2:30 PM | News

The City of Winnipeg plans to begin treating American elm trees for Dutch elm disease.

Beginning August 5 — weather permitting — the city will treat elms on public and private property using Dursban Turf (Chlorpyrifos).

Treatment will take place in various locations throughout the city where DED has claimed American Elm trees.

The program is intended to control elm bark beetles, the carriers of DED.
