Ruth “Babs” Asper will be laid to rest later today after suddenly passing away on Saturday.
Babs was the wife of the late Winnipeg media mogul Israel “Izzy” Asper — who passed away in 2003 — and mother to David, Gail and Leonard Asper.
She also served as chair and co-founder of The Asper Foundation — a charitable organization the family founded in 1983.
The funeral is set for noon at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, 561 Wellington Crescent. A burial service will follow at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery.
Babs Asper was 78.
