A Winnipeg TV series has earned eight Gemini Award nominations and made its U.S. television debut this week.
Todd & The Book of Pure Evil earned the nods for its first season, which premiered in Canada on SPACE.
The program earned recognition for Best Direction in a Comedy Program or Series (x2), Best Writing in a Comedy or Variety Program or Series (x2), Best Picture Editing in a Comedy, Variety or Performing Arts Program or Series, Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Program or Series, Best Performance by an Actor in a Continuing Leading Comedic Role and Best Achievement in Casting.
On August 2, the series premiered on FEARnet’s linear cable channel in the U.S. after an extensive marketing campaign by the network in New York City and Los Angeles.
The series is produced by Aircraft Pictures, Corvid Pictures and Frantic Films.
The second season of Todd & The Book of Pure Evil is currently being shot in Winnipeg.
