The Canadian Red Cross is on the receiving end of a fundraising campaign by Walmart Canada to raise $2.8 million.
From now until August 31, customers shopping at Walmart will have the opportunity to make a donation to the Red Cross at the checkout.
Manitoba’s fundraising goal is $102,300.
“Funds raised through the Manitoba Walmart campaign will help ensure that the Red Cross is ready to respond when disaster strikes,” said Cheryl Baldwin, Provincial Disaster Management Lead. “From the floods in Western Canada and Quebec to forest fires in Alberta and Ontario, Red Cross is there in times of need for Canadians whose lives are disrupted due to disaster.”
