Get that appetite ready in support of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
On Thursday, August 25, one dollar from every A&W Teen Burger sold across Canada will go towards the society to help fund research into finding a cure and provide life-changing services to individuals touched by MS.
Dubbed Cruisin’ for a Cause, the one-day fundraiser has previously been a major success in raising awareness and donations to help fight MS. Last year alone, more than $700,000 was raised.
More than 730 A&W restaurants will host events on the 25th featuring classic car Cruisin’ the Dub gatherings, retro music, car hop service, hula hoop and root beer chugging contests.
New this year, the public can also donate via text message by sending the letters ‘MS’ to 45678 to make a $5 donation.
A&W will donate 50¢ for each Facebook event RSVP and tweet using the hashtag #CruisinForACause (up to $20,000) leading up to, and day of the event.
Donations to the MS Society will also be collected in coin boxes at A&W restaurants and from the sale of paper cutouts.
