NHL Stars to Gather in City for Charity Hockey Game

A charity hockey game in support of the Believe in the Goal Foundation Inc. will bring a number of NHL superstars to Winnipeg on Thursday.

The MTS IcePlex will host the 2011 Summer Showdown, where NHL stars will battle for cancer patient care.

Honourary captains are Cam Barker of the Edmonton Oilers, who will captain Team Red, with Colton Orr of the Toronto Maple Leaf leading Team White.

MTS Autograph Alley will take place from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. prior to the game at the IcePlex. A game ticket is required to participate.

Players include Jonathan Toews, Jordin Tootoo, Darcy Zajac, Mike Richards, Nolan Baumgartner, Travis Zajac and a handful of others.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.
