Dairy Queen Fundraiser Supporting Children’s Hospitals

August 11, 2011 7:08 AM | News

Satisfy your sweet tooth and feel good about consuming a few extra calories today, all in the name of a great cause.

It’s Dairy Queen’s 9th annual Miracle Treat Day, where all proceeds from Blizzards sold in Canada will go to support the Children’s Miracle Network.

All Winnipeg donations will stay local, helping provide for critical care, research, and education programs.

Last year, Miracle Treat Day and associated activities helped raise almost $2.2 million for Children’s Miracle Network. From that, more than $104,000 was raised for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.

A number of local media personalities will be doing their part to create and serve up Blizzards today, including CTV’s Maralee Caruso, Citytv’s Megan Batchelor and Drew Kozub, Global Winnipeg’s Heather Steele, and the crews from 92 CITI FM and FAB 94.3.

Shaw TV’s Kim Babij got a head start on her Blizzard making on Wednesday. Her story is running in the Shaw loop beginning today on channel 9.
