The University of Manitoba has filled a new position meant to enhance the lives of students of campus.
The Director of Student Life “will improve students’ university experiences by enhancing opportunities for them to engage in service learning, and activities outside of classrooms and labs,” the university said in a release.
Brendan Hughes will have the new position, while the U of M also announced the hiring of Elizabeth (Betty) Worobec — its new Director of University 1.
“Our goal is to ensure the University of Manitoba remains a transformative place that allows students to learn and grow; to provide a place for them to engage in a rich and rewarding community,” said David Barnard, U of M president and vice-chancellor. “The university is fortunate to have appointed two individuals of remarkable talent and vision to positions that will continue our successes in achieving this goal.”
