Lockport will be a bustling place this weekend, and it won’t be just because of the fishing.

The first annual Lockport Dam Family Festival begins today and runs through Sunday. There will be something for everyone, with entertainment for the kids, including magicians, clowns, crafts and face painting. A market, dunk tank and catfish-fishing contest will also be part of the fun.

For the adults, more than 20 bands are scheduled to perform, including Bed of Roses tonight, Sierra Noble on Saturday and Eagle and Hawk on Sunday.

Fireworks are planned for Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 p.m.

The festival will be held at the federal park space across from Skinner’s River Road.

Tickets are $10 in advance at local businesses or $12 at the gate. Children 6-17 are $5, while those under 5 are free.
