A head-on crash on Highway 6 Tuesday night has killed a Winnipeg woman.
RCMP say the accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. when a 2004 Honda Civic collided with a semi-trailer truck near Grosse Isle. The Honda was travelling northbound at the time, but crossed the centre dividing line into the southbound lanes.
The driver of the civic — a 25-year-old woman — was pronounced deceased at the scene after her car was engulfed in flames.
The driver of the semi did not suffer any serious injuries.
Police had the highway closed for several hours while they investigated.
