Four months today marks Christmas Day, and even though most people don’t have the holiday season on their mind just yet, organizers of the 2011 Winnipeg Santa Claus Paradearen’t wasting any time.
A media launch will take place at Shaw Park today leading up to this evening’s Winnipeg Goldeyes game, which is appropriately themed “Christmas in August” night.
Organizers will reveal information on new float entries this year, details on a 3D building projection at The Forks and introduce the 2011 Parade Grand Marshal.
The launch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the outdoor promenade entrance to the park.
This year’s parade is Saturday, November 12.
