Winnipeg Jets Set Roster for Hockey Ops., Training Staff

The Winnipeg Jets are bolstering their hockey operations and training staff by announcing several new hires for the 2011-12 season.

The hockey club announced Thursday the hirings of Larry Simmons, who will be the assistant to GM Kevin Cheveldayoff, as well as pro scouting staff working under director Mark Dobson. Scouts will include Jack Birch, John Perpich, and Bruce Southern.

Marcel Comeau will be director of amateur scouting, with head scout being Mark Hillier. The entire amateur scouting staff is rounded out with Tavis MacMillan (U.S.), Chris Snell (OHL), Keith Sullivan (U.S.), Scott Scoville (WHL), Ed Friesen, Yanick Lemay, and Pat Carmichael.

The European scouting staff includes head European scout Evgeny Bogdanovich and European scout Fredrik Jax, along with scouts Dobson, Perpich, Comeau, Carmichael, Bogdanovich, and assistant to the GM Larry Simmons.

The Jets have also hired Ryan Bowness as manager of hockey operations and team services, and Jimmy Roy, former member of the Manitoba Moose, as director of player development.

The full training staff of the Jets includes head athletic therapist Rob Milette, assistant athletic therapists Brad Shaw and Lee Stubbs, head equipment manager Jason McMaster, and assistant equipment managers Mark Grehan and Mike Flaman.
