Need to fill up your vehicle for the weekend? With the rise of fuel going up about 10 cents a litre since Thursday, knowing some of your money is going to charity may help to soften the blow to your wallet.
Today only, select Esso stations in Winnipeg will donate one cent for every litre of fuel sold to the United Way of Winnipeg’s Day of Caring initiative.
The goal is to raise $6,000 and help United Way programs and partnerships that create opportunities for kids in Winnipeg.
The Day of Caring will coincide with the grand opening of three new Esso On the Run locations in the city.
As part of the day’s celebrations, volunteers will host community barbeques at seven Esso locations between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. They will be serving up free hot dogs and drinks, with donations to United Way encouraged.
Participating Esso retail locations:
- 777 Keewatin St. (On the Run grand opening)
- 1640 Kenaston Blvd. (On the Run grand opening)
