Berens River Fire Causes Millions in Damage

A multi-million dollar fire that destroyed the local adult education building and the Northern Store in Berens River is being treated as suspicious.

RCMP say the blaze began at about 5:30 a.m. Monday, engulfing both structures and their contents. The buildings are located about 300 yards apart.

RCMP along with the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner are currently investigating.

No one was injured in the fires.

Berens River is located about 270 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
