August 29, 2011 8:08 AM | Sports

Toronto Blue Jays alumni will be in Winnipeg today to meet with participants in the Winnipeg Honda Super Camp.

About 150 kids aged 8-14 will learn baseball insight from former MLB players at Shaw Park. The Super Camps are taking place in 10 Canadian cities this summer to promote amateur baseball.

Visiting alumni include Duane Ward, Roberto Alomar, Sandy Alomar Sr., Jesse Barfield, Homer Bush and Darren Hall.

The baseball club has partnered with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada to establish a Blue Jays Baseball Academy Rookie League in each city the camp stops. The initiative is organized through the Jays Care Foundation.
