Five incredible designer homes in south Headingley will open their doors on Sunday, September 11 as part of the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s 7th annual Home Tour.
Located along the Assiniboine River, this year’s homes are in a peaceful country setting just west of the city.
“It’s always fascinating to see into other peoples’ homes, particularly spectacular ones like these,” said WAG director Stephen Borys. “Built to blend in with the landscape, these houses all boast enormous windows overlooking expansive grounds that are popular with grazing deer. Many of them have custom-crafted details like a dining room table made of reclaimed wood from Manitoba grain elevators or marble fireplaces salvaged from an old Tuxedo mansion.”
This self-guiding tour takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A $30 guidebook will give you one admission to each of the five homes featured, and are available at the WAG, McNally Robinson Booksellers, The Garden Room, Envy Paint and Design, and Shelmerdine’s.
The WAG holds the Home Tour as an annual fundraising project to fund exhibition sponsorship, works of art purchase, and art scholarships.
