RCMP in Shamattawa responded to the unusual call on Wednesday of a man falling out of a moving vehicle.

Police arrived on scene shortly after noon, where they found a 41-year-old man on Bay Road in proximity of a pick-up truck. Glen Stuart Thomas of Shamattawa was taken to the local nursing station, where he succumbed to his injuries about an hour later.

RCMP say the victim was seated on the box edge of the pick-up when he was ejected.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and faces a number of charges, including impaired driving causing death, operating a vehicle over .08 causing death, operating a vehicle while disqualified and two of counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.

Shamattawa resident Robert Samson Miles, 48, will appear in Thompson court on September 6.
