Winnipeg Harvest will be on the receiving end of a generous $10,000 donation made by the Lays potato chip brand.

PepsiCo Foods Canada will share a $100,000 donation to several provincial food banks across the country as a way of giving back to the community.

“More than 800,000 Canadians used food banks last year, which is the highest level on record yet,” said Amanda Finley Key of the Ontario Association of Food Banks, one of the many recipients benefiting from the donation. “And over 50 per cent of these food bank users are young families.”

Lays will donate to nine other provincial food banks to reward their hard work in feeding hunger in their areas.
