Nancy Swenty (RCMP HANDOUT)
Manitoba RCMP have laid a second-degree murder charge against a suspect in the homicide of 33-year-old Nancy Swenty.
Swenty disappeared on July 28 from the Fisher Branch area and an exhaustive search for her ensued. Last weekend, her remains were found not far from where she was last seen in Poplarfield.
On Friday, RCMP held a news conference to announce a Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for Russell Gordon McDiarmid. The 51-year-old was originally a suspect in Swenty’s disappearance, with police initially suspecting the two may have be travelling together.
