Labour Day Weekend Travellers Venture South of the Border

September 4, 2011 8:01 AM | News

Manitobans fled the province in droves on Saturday to take advantage of the Labour Day long weekend. The top photo was taken Saturday at about 8:30 a.m. at the Pembina, North Dakota border crossing. The photographer tells us vehicles were expected to wait about 45 minutes before making it across. Travellers can expect similar lineups when they return to Canada either today or tomorrow. The CBSA expects traffic to peak at certain times this weekend at the Emerson crossing. Meanwhile in Fargo, the majority of license plates in mall parking lots were fellow Manitobans.
