Fresh IE

Winnipeg rapper Fresh IE has received eight Canadian Dove Award nominations for his newest album Death of a Rapper and for producing other works.

Fresh IE’s album has been nominated for rap/hip hop album of the year. Two of his songs — Vanity and White Flag — have also been nominated for rap/hip hop song of the year. Other tracks on the album, including Struggle and Remember David, have been nominated for urban soul song of the year.

The rapper is also up for producing awards in two categories where he leant his production expertise. MDK’s rap/hip hop song of the year nomination for Identity Crisis and Shadow’s album Mobilization for rap/hip hop album of the year. Shadow also earned a self-titled rap/hip hop song of the year nod.

The Canadian Gospel Music Association will hand out the awards October 28 in Calgary.
