Pedestrian Killed by Car in Norway House

A 22-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle on the Norway House First Nation.

RCMP say the accident happened on Saturday at about 9 a.m. when a vehicle backing out of a driveway hit the man. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

Lyle Munroe, 20, of Norway House has been charged with two impaired driving offences, as well as four counts of breaching an undertaking. He will appear in Thompson court on September 8.

The victim’s name wasn’t released.
