Five Events, One Weekend — ManyFest to Keep Folks Busy

September 9, 2011 8:05 AM | Entertainment

There won’t be any excuses for not finding anything to do this weekend, ManyFest is here.

Today through Sunday, an array of events will fill Broadway as the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ throws the city’s “biggest street party.”

ManyFest: All Together Downtown is expected to attract more than 30,000 people over the span of three days.

The event merges several festivals into one and includes a movie in the park (Toy Story 3), wine festival, Big Dance, music, farmers and artisan markets, Lights on Broadway, Ciclovia, Kids’ Zone, and the Winnipeg 10 & 10 Race.

The festival will extend from Main Street to Osborne Street with parts of the north side of Broadway closed to vehicle traffic.

Last year, more than 150 volunteers and dozens of community groups devoted their time and helped give back to the community. Attendees are also encouraged to give back by bringing a non-perishable food item in support of Winnipeg Harvest.
