Cross-Country Cancer Ride Arriving in Winnipeg

September 10, 2011 8:31 AM | News

Fourteen cyclists who began a cross-Canada ride from Vancouver to Halifax earlier this week will arrive in Winnipeg on Sunday.

The 15-day Sears National Kids Cancer Ride will end on September 22 on the Atlantic coast, with riders having travelled an estimated 7,000 kilometres.

The cyclists will be at Sears Polo Park at 3:15 p.m. tomorrow to meet with the community and promote their cause — fundraising and spreading awareness of childhood cancer.

This is the longest charity cycling event of its kind in the world.
