The United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg will launch their pink T-shirt campaign today in support of the battle against cancer.

At 11 a.m., firefighters will gather at Fire Station #20, 525 Banting Drive, to unveil “Pinky” — a pink-coloured fire truck.

The pink truck will be a first in Canada and will respond to fire and emergency calls. At the same time, the truck will act as a way of raising public support for the fundraising initiative.

City fire stations will sell pink T-shirts, with all proceeds going toward CancerCare Manitoba’s Breast Cancer Centre of Hope.
