The University of Manitoba is celebrating Homecoming 2011 this week, with numerous activities planned campus-wide starting today until Sunday, September 18.
The week honours nearly 190,000 U of M graduates and will bring hundreds of classmates together again to share in the fun. Of these, 84,622 are known to still live in Manitoba, while 63,593 live in Winnipeg.
Planned activities include campus tours, complimentary workouts in the gyms at both campuses, receptions and luncheons in most faculties.
One of the highlights includes the final homecoming football game at University Stadium. The Bisons will welcome Saskatchewan at 1 p.m. Pre-game festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. The Bisons will play their next season at the new Blue Bombers stadium just east of their present location.
